Here are some before and after photos of some of the opportunities
I've had to redesign for my clients.
| See what a difference the right
scale makes in this alcove, using smaller chairs and
a smaller but taller lamp! |

| Moving the hutch provides access
to the adjoining family room and the discovery in another
room of the small tables provides a place for a cup of
tea and a book! The lamp also came from another
room and sheds light on the reader's book. The found
picture is a lovely addition to the room. |

| Instead of all the wasted space
and the lack of a conversation area, we have created
2 sitting areas, one facing out to the spacious golf
course view, the other, allowing one to enjoy the cozy
fireplace. |

| In the before, there are three
recliners crowding the room with the singular function
of television viewing. Out of view to the left is a charming
bay window into which we moved the white recliner and
ottoman, thus creating an additional function for the
room: a comfortable reading nook. By turning the sofa
to a corner angle and drawing up the 2 gray recliners,
we have created a comfortable conversational area and
easy tv viewing. Addition of a discovered redwood
burl table serves the area well. Also, the artwork on
the brick wall glows in sharp contrast to the previous
washed out picture. Other artwork accentuates the white
wall and creates a truly homey look. |
